Wedding Dress exhibition!

I have recently received a leaflet from the newsletter of the parishes of our local villages!
Spreading through three days in May, Saturday 3rd, Sunday 4th and Monday 5th from 10:30 am - 5:30 pm at St Peter's Church, Smallburgh they are holding a wedding dress exhibition!
It even free admission with refreshments, what more could you ask for!

I'm not one to dream about my future wedding but I do love wedding dresses! However, I'm a sucker to be found watching 'Four Weddings' or 'Don't tell the bride'!

Be sure to be there girls! I know I will be!

Easter Sunday 2014

Its Easter Sunday! Tell me someone who doesn't love that you have an excuse to eat more chocolate than you normally would?... I didn't think you could!
Here is a link to my Easter blog last year!
http://pottageetsissy.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/my-easter-childhood.html

When I was younger me and my 2 older brothers used to do Easter egg  hunts where mum and my dad would hide little eggs and big eggs with our names on around the house. Sometimes the big eggs had clues from one to the other which made it even more fun!

This morning myself, Rory, Mum and her boyfriend went down to our mooring. We have a little green boat called 'Cara' and a little rowing boat which mum just got for her birthday!

While mum was getting the boat all ready me and Rory decided to go out on the rowing boat! Which resulted in getting splashed multiple times and having to get pulled out away from the bank by some people in kayaks!
Looking like a pro!

It was a bit windy!
Such a peaceful part of the river!
This evening we are having my Gran over for a roast!

What have you got up to today?

Update on my shabby chic and retro collection

Since my last shabby chic and retro collection I have obtained more... better too much than too little, right? If you haven't yet read my other blog, check it out bellow!
http://pottageetsissy.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/i-love-shabby-chic-and-retro.html

This is a butterfly shaped photograph holder

This another photo holder hear shaped in use.

This hanging heart I bought from Dunelm last year, you'd be lucky if it was still there if you were interested!

I have a rather big obsession with Volkswagen campers.
One of my life long ambition is to own one myself!

More evidence of my obsession. Framed photo  got for Christmas.

This... tree thing I got for my 17th birthday.
You can move the hearts to any of the branches to have any design you want.

These blocks which spell 'SMILE' were form Debenhams at a price of £12.00

I also got this Volkswagen camper for Christmas, very cute with the sliding door!

Love this tea light holder, I would have shown what it looks like but it wasn't dark
enough when I took the photos!

This hanging photo frame I bought from a charity shop in Norwich.
I think it about £3.00... Bargain!

I don't really know what this is ment for... I know its an ice cream cone but it's way too small to practically use it like that. I use it to hold my lighters for my candles!

This rose garland was from amazon. I bought it for £7.00!

This is a homemade hanging heart. I also bought this from another charity shop, only 75p!

This tired looking owl was yet again from a charity shop coming at £1.00.

This bottle necklace I made myself.
The bottle was actually from waitrose as it was filled with raspberry coulee. I popped in in the dishwasher and hey presto it was pristine clean. I found an old necklace which I no longer wear and took the chain and simply tied it round the neck of the bottle and there you go! No coast at all, apart from getting the coulee!

This desk I bought from a local charity shop. It was priced at £60!

The draw nobs are my all time favorite colour which made me want it even more!

I got this "LOVE" photograph holder for my 17th birthday.
The make is Sass & Belle!
Here is a link to their website, check it out!
http://www.sassandbelle.co.uk/

The amount of pieces of paper I have is ridiculous. So to keep all madness at bay I got myself a file from TK MAXX at £4.00!

This metal picture came from one of my mums holiday homes and she no longer wanted it so instead of her throwing it away I thought I could make use for it. However, after a couple of months I still haven't! Poor picture!

This pretty floral box was from, yes your right... a charity shop! only £1.50!

I have had this purse for about 2 years now and is still in great condition!
This came from The Norfolk Show in 2012 for only £5.00!

Even though my last post about shabby chic and retro was about a year ago, I still have a massive obsession!
Recently I have bought a wooden piece which I intend to shabby up!! Keep a look out!!

College Life

When I was at school I couldn't wait to leave and begin college! I just wanted to get out of there.

My first day of college seemed like a dose so I was like "Yeh, I can get through this easy"... But then in the next couple of weeks the assignments began to roll out from each lesson!

However, at present all systems are go! Me and my class only have a few more assignments to be handed out to us but the amount we have out now of upgrades and referrals is crazy! Recently everyday I have been upgrading or doing refferals, even though I hate the feeling that I have to do them, I also love the feeling when you get an assignment completed to the highest grade you can get or capable of doing. I know BTEC's are meant to be easy but not long ago I heard that for the next academic year we only get 1 chance at each assignment which has scared and annoyed me! I'm going to have to work my absolute hardest to get the grades I want!

Work experience is also another problem, places that I have tried need a rather early notice but one came back and said "We need about 18 months notice"... 18 MONTHS!!!! I thought this was absolutely ridiculous! Yes it is good to give notice but 18 months is just way too long, they would probably forget you by the time for your placement! If you know you have to do work experience in your course I would definitely think ahead and start planning and even calling of where you want to go. I know from experience!

For those still in high school, don't wish your school life away. Even though I love college I do miss how EASY it was and that sometimes missing homework wasn't such a big deal. Another thing is that i'm not taking A-levels which are much harder than a BTEC. Enjoy it while you can and don't expect college to be all that it makes out to be... Just a heads up.

I do love college I have met so many amazing people and hope I meet more in the 2 years of my college life!

Review on Nivea BB Cream

I have recently purchased Nivea BB cream as I have never owned a BB cream before so I thought I would give it a go.

My first reaction to this product had mixed reactions.

Dislikes

  • Firstly, the cream itself is very thick and sort of gloopy and the colour I got was 'light' as I have very pale skin. I expected the cream to be lighter than it actually is.Once I applied it to my face I suddenly became very dark and after I had applied it to the rest of my face I noticed I had very noticeable foundation lines which i was not impressed by. This meant I had to apply more of the cream to my neck to blend it in better with my skin colour.

  • My second thought was that even though the cream says it evens the skin, for it didn't. I applied it with just my fingers and after a while I was trying to even the cream out around my face and I suddenly saw streaks on the side of my face where the cream had actually started to kind of peel off.

  • The third critic on this is that the product describes that the cream provides a matte effect but I disagree as it made my face looking shiny and oily.I then had to lightly cover my face with powder to make it look more matte effective.

Likes

  • The thing I do like about this product is the bottle. When squeezing the bottle to get the cream out, there is only a very small hole so a large amount is not able to accidentally be taken from the bottle and then wasted!
  • Another thing I like is that my face does feel moisturized and free of dryness which I do suffer from in specific areas of my face.
  • Also the colour isn't orangey it's more of a bronze colour which you don't find in many foundation type products.

I will continue to use this product but I don't think I will purchase it a second time.
