5 minute thermal detox mask - Sanctuary Spa

Winter, the worst time of year for your skin. It lacks in vitamin D and gets very dry very easily.
As I have sensitive skin this weather really effects it.
I didn't really think to use a product to help, however, Sanctuary Spa very kindly sent me the '5 minute thermal detox mask' as a winter warmer for my skin.

I am so glad they did! After using this product my face felt smoother, tighter and fresher than it has done in long a time.

I couldn't exactly make myself look glamorous
with a face mask :P
As soon as I applied this to my skin I felt the heat instantly, this indicated to me that it does what it says on the bottle!

You are able to use this mask up to 3 times a week which I think is great for those who like to pamper themselves more than once a week. Even just to add into a weekly routine. This product is kind to all skin types so don't be afraid to try it!

I'm not one to use face masks regularly but now I've been introduced to this by the Sanctuary team I will most definitely be using this in my routine!

How I applied the mask:

- To apply the mask I simply washed my face with my Simple face wash to remove any traces of make-up or dirt.

- Keeping a slightly damp face, put a small amount of the mask onto your fingers and first apply to the cheeks, spreading towards the hair line.

- Do this all around the face and down onto the neck.

- Then simply leave for 5 minutes or until cool and wash off with warm water and cloth.

Easy as that, no need to wait for any of the mask to dry like most masks which is a big positive of mine on this product.

So if you're suffering from the winter weather I would recommend this

Enjoy!

Sale Haul

Recently I went shopping to see what the sales had in store. I was pleasantly surprised, however, not all if what you will see was in the sale, because as you know, girls can get a bit carried away when shopping!

I am guilty for this case!

So here are the few bits I picked up:

I'll begin with jewellery

Newlook -  £1 down from £4
Jasper Conran- £3.20 down from £8
Newlook - £1 down from £4
Divine £2 down from £7.50
Stay pout £4.99 - a cheaper alternative

This is what it looks like on, the pigmentation
is just right.

Henry Holland Leggings - £14 down from £28

Newlook Petite -£7.99

Ted Baker PJ shorts - £9.90 down from £16.50

Candle Jars from TK MAXX- £00.50 each
down from £4. These will be used as
makeup brush holders instead!
So there we have it. I'd say my favourite thing would be the lipstick, I never really used to wear lipstick but I've recently gotten into them. Though I still love everything else!

Thanks for reading!

For my first blog post of 2016 I am doing my first ever look book. When I first started my blog it was about fashion, beauty and lifestyle but after a while it became just lifestyle. However, from doing this shoot I really enjoyed showing what I was wearing and doing this shoot was so fun and new!

These photos were taken by Jenni Duffin , who is working on her photography and is also a blogger, check out her blog HERE.

This look book is winter wear for an outfit I brought together just recently.

I hope you enjoyed looking through this as much as I did making it!

Uh oh...home sickness

Semester 1 has almost come to an end… and breathe.

Wow.

As a first year I am experiencing living away from home for the first time and truth be told, of course, I regularly get homesick like most other first years.

In many cases I find myself missing my home town, though not even knowing it until someone asks if I’m okay which then actually gets me thinking about my family and friends. This then makes myself feel lonely which can lead to a lack of motivation for my studies… NOT good.

So…

Luckily I live in a flat with 8 others so most of the time I am surrounded by people which stops me thinking about how much I'd love to go back. I try keep myself busy, doing work, house chores...blogging.

Also the change of weather from a warm Autumn breeze to a sudden bitterly wind is a no from me. I feel like hibernating.. which is pretty much what I've done today. I've been in my room working and feeling sorry for myself :').

This first semester is going extremely quick, however, the positive of only having a month worth left of lectures for this year is that we have just over a months worth of holiday. Starting up again in February... A well needed rest. Although I do have hand ins for the beginning of January so I'll most likely drive back up to Cambridge for the day and the be back for the rest of January... Bonus of being able to drive!

Now, back to studying I guess..

Printing photos on a budget! - Free Prints

Recently I've been getting a little homesick living here in Cambridge, missing everyone from my hometown.

Seeing my best friend having got a load of printed photos, I realized I didn't actually have many photos of friends and family so decided to do the same. Though I didn't use the same site as her.

I remembered a while back my friend back in Norfolk used an App to order her printed photos. She also wrote a post about the App here.

The App is called FreePrints

I was able to order 34 photos and only had to pay a small charge of £2 for postage.

WHAT A BARGAIN!

I was so impressed with the quality even at such a low price. Extremely happy with my photos and will definitely be using the FreePrints App again!

Here are some photos I got printed!

I really recommend FreePrints if your looking to print photos on a budget!

2 weeks into my lectures!

So I'm now 2 weeks into my lectures and it's safe to say I'm thoroughly enjoying them!

One reason being is because I'm only in 3 days a week of which 2 of the lectures begin in the afternoon so I'm getting a good lot of lay ins... Bonus! However, Tuesday is the day I'm not such a fan of. Lectures all day, 9am-5pm.

As I'm doing Sports Science I'm not at all interested in coaching, so having 3 hours of coaching and behavior on a Tuesday morning is not the one. However, luckily, all the other lectures are science based:

  • Research Methods
  • Exercise physiology
  • Anatomy of motion
The reason why my science course has coaching involved is because the coaching course does the same first year as the sport science... so next year will hopefully not involve much to do with coaching at all!

If you can't tell by now I still don't like coaching.

On a higher note I've met some lovely people.

Lets talk reading.

So there is always recommended reading which can be found online but there was a book that I had to by and its just over 1000 pages. Help me. Its so heavy.

Exercise Physiology
Trust me it looks bigger in person.

To be totally honest this is my favourite subject (second comes anatomy of motion) out of them all, I find it so interesting. I've always found the human body fascinating and now I'm actually able to study it in depth which I'm loving.

Overall, it's going well so far and hopefully will continue to do so!
