Rich scone recipe!

Since I'm on work experience I don't spend all day at the school unlike when I'm at college. Recently I've been getting home in the early afternoon and have been rather bored. So I had a snoop around my kitchen and found my mums old school recipe book.
There I found the rich scone recipe, so I decided to make it!
Here's the step by step guide of how to make these delicious scones!

Ingredients:

  • 8ounces of self raising flour
  • 1/2 tea spoon of salt
  • 1 1/2 ounces of margarine/lard
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 ounces of sugar
  • 2-3 table spoons of milk
Method

1. Before you do anything you need to turn your oven up to 200-220 degrees to make sure it is pre-heated enough.
2. Sieve the flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
3. Rub he margarine into the flour using your fingertips.
4. Now add the sugar and any other dry ingredients you wish, e.g. Dry fruit.
5. Add the egg and mix in well, if the dough is still too dry at 2-3 tablespoons of milk.
6. Roll out the stiff dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into round shapes. (1/2 an inch thick)
7. Place the shapes on an oven tray and brush either milk or egg over the top to give the. A golden finish.
8. Cook for 10-12 minutes until just becoming golden brown.

Once they are out of them oven place the scones on a cooling rack until fully cooled.
Now they are ready to eat!

Enjoy!
